The Heartbeat of MABC
Michigan Avenue Baptist Church has three main areas where we place an emphasis: Truth, Fellowship, and World Evangelism.
To spread the truth of God's Word, we hold three weekly worship services, and offer Sunday School classes for all ages, kids and youth classes on Wednesday nights, a weekly women's Bible study, and a bi-weekly men's Bible study.
To foster fellowship, we hold gatherings; such as our Annual Chili Cookoff in March, July 4th gathering, Homecoming, Fall Fellowship, Ladies Fellowships, Ugly Christmas Sweater Party, and a monthly Men's Breakfast.
To propagate the gospel to the world and fulfill the Great Commission, we support missionaries and mission organizations, and send members of the church into the community, local prisons, and around the world.

Study of James
On Wednesday nights at 7 PM, Pastor Joe is leading a study of the book of James. This book presents a challenge to the faithful followers of Jesus Christ to not just "talk the talk" but to "walk the walk." James focuses on the truths of Jesus' words in the Sermon on the Mount, and urges us to act upon what has been taught... to be doers of the word and not hearers only. This book written by our Lord's half-brother is a highly practical letter that will both help and challenge you.
